Video: Drama as Dino Melaye Shares Wike, Babachir Meeting Clip

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has stirred fresh political controversy after sharing a video allegedly showing a private meeting involving former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, former Speaker Yakubu Dogara, and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Melaye shared the video on his official Facebook page alongside a strongly worded caption accusing Babachir Lawal of political betrayal and secret dealings.

“The political contractor, see where the deal was sealed with the Grasscutter, Babachir Lawal, Wike and Dogara. Babachir is an unrepentant agent of darkness,” Melaye wrote.

The video surfaced amid growing tensions within the opposition coalition and recent political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Babachir Lawal had recently launched a verbal attack on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, describing him as “Kachalla” during a political interview, a statement that generated mixed reactions across political circles.

Lawal has also repeatedly criticised the opposition coalition, insisting that some politicians within the alliance are pursuing personal interests rather than national unity.

Meanwhile, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike recently dismissed concerns over the growing influence of the ADC, maintaining that the party poses no serious threat to the ruling establishment ahead of 2027.

Wike, while reacting to the coalition moves around the ADC, stated that political alliances formed without clear ideology and structure would eventually collapse, adding that Nigerians are more interested in governance than political propaganda.

The emergence of the video has further fueled speculations about ongoing behind-the-scenes negotiations among key political figures as permutations for the next presidential election gather momentum.
