2027: Fubara Picks NDC Governorship Form

Blessing Fubara, a relative of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has officially entered the Rivers State governorship race by obtaining the expression of interest and nomination forms from the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to reports from DAILY POST, Blessing picked up the forms on Wednesday, just hours before the governor’s announcement that he was withdrawing from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary.

Both Blessing and Governor Fubara are from the Opobo/Nkoro local government area in Rivers State, though it has not been confirmed if they are directly related.

Success Jack, the NDC chairman in Rivers State, has verified that Blessing Fubara is among the aspirants vying for the party’s governorship ticket.

“Yes, he (Blessing Fubara Snr) obtained his expression of interest from yesterday in Abuja, and we are prepared and still preparing to win not only the governorship election, but all the elections in Rivers State, come 2027 general election”, Daily Trust quoted the NDC chairman.

It was gathered that some loyalists of the governor had begun moving to NDC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
