How my wife starved me of s3x, plans to kill me for dating another woman – Husband

A cameraman with a Lagos-based television station has fled home after his wife allegedly threatened to kill him for taking a second wife

A cameraman with a Lagos-based television station has fled home after his wife allegedly threatened to kill him for taking a second wife after denying him sex for more than six months reports KUNLE AKINRINADE of TheNation.

Eighteen years ago, Ishaq Ojo exchanged blissful marital vows with his wife, Awawu. But the love between the couple flipped recently sending the once happy couple on a warring path that has shattered their matrimony.

In a video recording exclusively obtained by our reporter, Ojo is seen frantically crying for help while struggling to break free from the grip of his wife, who is threatening to dispatch him into early grave.

The couple’s daughter (name withheld) and a female relative of Awawu are also heard pleading with Awawu to stop attacking Ojo.

The recorded incident occurred at the couple’s home in Obide-Ntabo Ibaragun near Ijoko area of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Ogun State.

“I will make sure that I kill you. I have been told to kill you and I will kill you. It is today that you will die…” Awawu threatened in the video recording.

Ojo on his part is seen screaming: “She has bitten me again! She has smashed my mobile phone on the ground…Please, don’t kill me!’’

Their daughter is also heard saying: “My mother, please don’t kill him… I beg you in the name of God, consider the fact that both of you have been taking care of me.”

Speaking with our reporter, Ojo, who works with a Lagos-based television station as a cameraman, explained that the recording captured moments when Awawu drew a kitchen knife and went after him after trying unsuccessfully to suffocate him with a pillow.

He said he was left with no choice but to cry out for help.

The embattled husband said: “I fled home more than two weeks ago when she brought out a knife and threatened to kill me.

“Our daughter and one of my wife’s sisters, who were around, were the ones holding her back from stabbing me with the knife. Hence, I fled home for my dear life.

“I had barely returned from work that day when she stirred up an altercation, and before I knew it, she went into the kitchen, brought out a knife and tried to stab me.”

But what actually turned Ojo and Awawu into estranged couple after almost a decade in marriage? Ojo offered an insight, saying that his wife suddenly forbid him from mating with her, giving various excuses.

He said: “She sells building materials and I was responsible for setting her up in the business.

“The genesis of this crisis is that I took a second wife after she deliberately denied me sex for more than six months.

“She had been threatening to kill me even before she found out about the new woman in my life.

“She actually trailed my new woman to her residence where she threatened that she would deal with her if she did not desist from seeing me.

“I decided to take a second wife after she stopped me from making love to her for six months.

“First, she told me she was having sex with other men outside, including an hotelier, who is one of her rich customers and that I can no longer make love to her.

“At another time, she told me that she usually experienced low sales and patronage in her business each time I had sex with her. Hence, she denied me sex at home.

“She continued to assault me each time I tried to make love to her.

“She had used a screwdriver to stab me and also bit me with her teeth several times. The scars are all over my body.’’

Ojo explained further that he once reported his wife to some Muslim clerics, who intervened and pleaded with her to no avail.

“When I invited some Muslim clerics who taught her the Koran to talk to her, she again said that she usually suffered misfortune in her business whenever we had sex and that was the reason she denied me of sex.

“The clerics told her that she was wrong to have denied me sex but she turned a deaf ear to their admonitions.

“I was advised by people to leave my home for her because she could kill me one day.

“After she found out about my new wife, she started asking me to make love to her everyday.

“However, if I refused that sex should not be an everyday thing, she would assault me and threaten to deal with me if I did not quit my affair with my new wife, especially after she found that I had impregnated the lady and she was delivered of a baby.

‘’She held me by the throat and attempted to suffocate me with a pillow. And when I managed to free my neck from her grip, I ran out of the house.

“She then went to report to the police at the Agbado Police Division that I assaulted her just to prevent me from attending the naming of the baby my new wife had for me.

“I was arrested and detained, and she asked that I should be charged to court for assault.

“Even when the policemen there told her that the penalty for assault is seven years imprisonment, she insisted that I must be prosecuted.

“My family members and friends pleaded with her and the police, I was freed after the police forced me to sign an undertaking that I would never assault her again and that I must desist from seeing my new wife and baby henceforth.

“She also took the matter to a monarch in Ota where she was cautioned about her attitude and asked to stop hostility with me.

“Dissatisfied, she took the matter to a radio programme and maligned my person.

“She is from Ibadan. She is about 46 years old and its very disturbing how she changed overnight.

Sometime ago, she woke me in the wee hours and confessed that she was seeing a rich hotelier who happened to be one of her customers and that she had sex several times with the man. I could not believe my ears and I was devastated.

“A few days later, she changed the story, saying that she was only trying to gauge my reaction and was not dating the hotelier.

“Later, she said that a spirit husband was making love to her while sleeping and that she could no longer have sex with me. I was no longer having any peace of mind at home.

“I am the owner of my house at Obide Ntabo community in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State. But I needed to leave the home to save myself from untimely death from my cruel wife.

“She has two I could children for me; a boy and a girl. I could not have raised my hand against her because I know that she is a sickle cell patient. But she is cruel at home, not minding her fragile health.’’

Ojo added: ‘’The Baale (head) of our community heard about the matter on a radio programme when my wife reported me. But when the Baale asked her about it, she denied being the one mentioned, saying that nothing was wrong with her marriage.

“However, when the Baale called me on the phone I opened up to him that the matter was about me and my wife and that she actually took the matter to a radio programme.

“It was then that she now told the Baale that she denied being the one mentioned on the radio programme because she did not want her domestic matter to gain public traction, especially in our neighbourhood.

Efforts made to speak with Awawu were futile as calls placed to her mobile phone were not answered.

Enquiries made via her Glo mobile number were also not responded to.

Man jailed after removing condom during s3x without permission

A man has been jailed for four years and three months in a rare conviction for “stealthing” – taking a condom off during sex without consent.

A man has been jailed for four years and three months in a rare conviction for “stealthing” – taking a condom off during sex without consent.

Guy Mukendi, 39, from Brixton, was sentenced on Thursday at inner London crown court for the rape of a woman last year. The woman had consented to sex with Mukendi on the condition a condom was used, but he removed it without her consent.

Nonconsensual condom removal is classified as rape under separate laws applying in the UK nations.

Metropolitan police officers worked with the victim in a “milestone case” to obtain screenshots of messages from Mukendi in which he apologised for taking the condom off, explaining it was because he had not had sex in a long time. He then deleted the messages.

Officers also gathered forensic evidence with the help of the victim. The evidence helped to secure the conviction of Mukendi, who was found guilty by a jury on 2 April.

DC Jack Earl, who led the investigation, said: “Throughout this investigation Mukendi denied any wrongdoing, but our officers built a compelling case against him to leave no doubt in the jury’s mind.

“We were dedicated to securing justice for the victim and will continue to raise awareness that this crime is a form of rape.

“The victim did the right thing to call the police straight away and her bravery should not be overshadowed. If you have been a victim of sexual violence and not yet reported it, please contact your local police service and we will do all that we can to help and bring you justice.”

The Met said prosecutions for stealthing were “very rare due to under-reporting”.

The first successful conviction in England and Wales was in 2019 when Lee Hogben, from Bournemouth, was jailed for 12 years for the rape of a sex worker. She had given consent beforehand for sexual intercourse on the condition a condom was used, and this condition was also stated on her website.

The first conviction in Scotland occurred last year when Luke Ford was handed a condom in bed by a woman whom he was dating and who had told him he had to use protection. He later told her that he had not used the condom. It was one of 18 offences against women for which Ford was found guilty.

The prevalence of stealthing in the UK is not known but a 2018 survey of patients at a sexual health clinic in Melbourne, Australia, found that a third of women and a fifth of men who had sex with men had experienced stealthing. Only 1% had reported it to the police.

Under the England and Wales Sexual Offences Act 2003, “a person consents if he [or she] agrees by choice, and has the freedom and capacity to make that choice” and consent is not deemed to have been given if “the defendant intentionally deceived the complainant as to the nature or purpose of the relevant act”.

Lagos bizman loses N21m valuables to robbers

The Kano State Police Command has arrested eight suspected thugs for attempting to disrupt the inauguration of the four newly appointed

A businessman, Mohammed Abdullahi, has accused policemen of the Zone 2 Command and Lagos State Police Command of mishandling a case of robbery that made him lose his car, money and valuables worth N21m when armed criminals robbed him and his neighbours at their residence in the Awoyaya community, in the Ibeju Lekki area of the state.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Abdullahi, a realtor, in several posts on sometime in May and June 2024, lamented over the loss of his valuables and how the police did nothing meaningful to track down the suspects behind the robbery despite providing overwhelming evidence to them.

In one of the posts, Abdullahi said, “Please Nigerians, help me share this video. these are the guys that robbed me and the police are not ready to do anything about my case.”

Our correspondent, during a recent conversation with the realtor, gathered that he was at home with his friend, Juliet, when three of the five robbers who invaded their building broke down the door of his flat, gained entry into his parlour and room and robbed him and his guest of their valuables at gunpoint.

During the operation around 1 am, the businessman said the armed robbers used a gun to strike his head, adding that after robbing him and other neighbours in the building housing 20 units of flats, the robbers, whose faces were said to be visible during the robbery, locked them up in the toilets and fled.

Abdullahi said, “They were five in number but only three entered my apartment while the remaining were outside monitoring. They were armed with guns and knives. While in my flat, one of them cocked the gun and demanded my car key, which I gave him.

“They also searched my house and saw a bag containing my passport with a valid visa, driving licence, and dollars that I wanted to use to purchase goods for my real estate business as I was to travel to Turkey in January 2023.

“They also stole my clothes, shoes, laptop, token, ATM card, gold, phone and some other documents for my business. They broke the door of my flat and gained entry, proceeded to my room and knocked down the door. The building is a combination of 20-unit flats and the armed robbers robbed nine residents, including me, on that day.”

During the operation, Abdullahi said one of his neighbours informed the landlady, who notified the police in Area J Command, adding that despite their intervention, no meaningful progress had been made to track down the suspects.

He said, “The armed robbers operated from 1 am to 3 am, locked all of us who were robbed inside the toilet or kitchen and left. It was after they left that the police came and opened the toilet and kitchen doors to set us free. We were later invited to the police station where we wrote statements.

“When we got home, we realised that some of the suspects were using some of the stolen phones to access the UBER app on one of the phones to book a ride and snap pictures using the Snapchat handle of one of my neighbours. They had access to the phone because when they stole it, they collected the password to unlock it and we monitored the social media handle using another phone.

“The suspects even wore one of my neighbour’s stolen wristwatches and snapped pictures with it. We recognised them because when they robbed us, they did not wear any masks. We took all that evidence to the policemen at Area J and we also paid N90,000 to track the location of the stolen phones.”

According to Abdullahi, they did the tracking and showed us some locations but we didn’t get anything concrete. One of the policemen even demanded N30,000 from me to give someone at Alausa to help me flag my car and didn’t do anything despite paying him.

He added that he was the one who later went to flag the car and to date, he still receives alerts whenever his vehicle was charged for a traffic offence, among others.

Abdullahi said, “I later visited the command headquarters in Ikeja to lodge another complaint and spoke with one CSP Abdulfatai, gave him all the evidence and pictures of the suspects and he promised to arrest them. He called one of his team leaders, Seun, and told me to meet him to write statements.

“Seun demanded N50,000 for the case and I gave him. A month after paying him, I called Seun and he said there was an election and he wouldn’t be able to do anything. After the election, I called CSP Abdulfatai, he said he had retired.

“I called Seun but got nothing meaningful from him. I demanded my money and he returned it. I later went to the Zone 2 Command, met the AIG, wrote a petition and he assigned my case to a team leader. The team leader, after assessing my case, said they didn’t have the server to track the suspects.”

Abdullahi said the team lead introduced him to someone who demanded N500,000 to handle the case, adding that he paid the person N150,000 but he later returned N70,000, showed him some paperwork and said he couldn’t continue the job.

“It weakened me; despite all the evidence submitted, the police kept demanding money without doing any solid investigation. Last month, I still even received an autoreg and traffic offence alert for my stolen vehicle because I had flagged it.

“The police frustrated the case. They didn’t do anything to track down the suspects; they just kept collecting money and only showed paperwork and nothing more. The police treated me badly.

“The valuables I lost during the robbery were worth around N21m. The incident happened on December 25, 2022, and I still have the pictures of some of the suspects. I have made several reports at the police stations and nothing was done,” he added.

Our ugly experiences with EFCC officials at night club; ‘it was brutal’

Guests of two nightclubs claim Nigerian authorities randomly rounded up anyone they found inside on Saturday, accused them of internet

Guests of two nightclubs claim Nigerian authorities randomly rounded up anyone they found inside on Saturday, accused them of internet fraud, seized their phones, and beat and humiliated them.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stated that its operatives had detained 127 internet fraud suspects in the two clubs but asserted that nobody was hurt during the raid and nothing was damaged.

However, as guests shared their experiences online, hundreds of young people took to the streets of Akure on Monday, protesting the brutality of the EFCC operatives against innocent club guests.

Signatures Elixir, one of the two clubs, issued a statement on Tuesday saying that about 40 officers arrived at the club around 1:30 am on Saturday, beat up the security guards at the gate, and after entering the club, terrorized the guests and took away the CCTV system.

“After gaining access to our premises, they rounded everybody up and instructed them to lie down on the floor, using snooker sticks to beat people to comply. Both male and female customers were dealt with mercilessly,” the statement said, adding that the officers used tear gas in the process.

“We were lucky to have adequate first aid materials on the premises, which were used by our staff to rescue some of the customers who had various forms of medical emergencies,” the club added.

The EFCC claimed it had received a tip that the so-called “Yahoo Boys,” a local expression for internet fraudsters, were having a party at those clubs. However, Signatures Elixir denied this claim, stating that nobody had reserved the premises that night.

Even an international soccer player nicknamed “Tiger” ended up briefly detained despite offering video evidence of his identity, the club said. The man’s car was seized and is still with the police.

A 25-year-old woman who identified herself only by her first name, Chioma, told OCCRP on Thursday that the officers poured ice water on her, stripped her of her clothes, and took her wig and money. She said they made her write a statement but threatened that if she did not write what they dictated, she would never see her phone again.

Chioma was not detained, but after the raid, she returned to her hotel room and could not sleep all night because she was traumatized.

“Having a traffic accident would have been better than that experience,” she said.

Responding to the protest on Monday, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, called for peace to allow relevant authorities to look into the matter and address the complaints and concerns of aggrieved residents.

“The State Government and the Inspector-General of Police have been informed and are taking steps to ensure that all concerns are addressed without prejudice,” the statement said.

Nigeria ranks 5th on Oxford University’s World Cybercrime Index, behind Russia, Ukraine, China, and the United States, but tops the list in online scams.

President Bola Tinubu has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in January to intensify its fight against cybercrime, which has become an embarrassment for the nation.

“Our country is not a nation of fraudsters, and the pejorative reference to internet crimes as the ‘Nigerian scam’ across the world is unfair, untenable, and unacceptable. Cybercrimes are a global phenomenon,” he said, according to the daily newspaper Punch.
