APC takes lead to 72 as four senators dump PDP

Four senators who are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The are Senators Sampson Ekong, (Akwa Ibom South), Aniekan Bassey (Akwa Ibom North-East), Francis Fadahunsi (Osun East), and Olubiyi Fadeyi (Osun Central).

Letters of their defection were read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

With their defection, the APC now takes a lead in the Senate with 72 senators.
