APC Finally Announces Governorship Candidate in Oyo (PHOTO)

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially confirmed Senator Sharafadeen Ali as its governorship candidate and Adesoji Adedeji as the deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Oyo State, ending weeks of uncertainty over the party’s ticket.
The announcement comes amid heightened political tension within the Oyo APC, with the emergence of the party’s candidates following internal disagreements that have been linked by party stakeholders to the lingering political influence and controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s Minister of Power.
The unveiling ceremony took place in Ibadan on Thursday, attended by party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, where Ali and Adedeji were formally introduced.

This event clarified any uncertainties regarding potential changes to the list of candidates and also drew attention from other individuals contesting for various elective positions under the APC platform.
Meanwhile, APC has reportedly empowered governors to distribute and fill out INEC nomination forms amid growing anger over its candidates’ list in several states.

Vanguard gathered that although the National Working Committee (NWC) forwarded the forms to State Working Committees, candidates backed by governors and key stakeholders are more likely to receive them.
The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the party received more than 700 petitions from its disputed primaries.
He said the party’s immediate priority was to ensure that candidates complete their forms before INEC’s July 11 deadline.
“They are to complete and return the forms to the party for upload to the INEC portal, so, making the list public is not our priority now,” Morka said.
He added that the party would eventually release the full list.
