Bandits kill school principal, abduct wife, son in Kaduna

Bandits have been reported to have killed a Secondary School Principal, Malam Idris Abu Sufyan in Kuriga, Chikun Local Government area of Kaduna State.

The bandits who attacked the late Principal’s residence at Kuriga, a community along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway on Friday abducted his wife and baby after killing him.

Sunday Nation gathered that, the assailants that Abu Sufyan was killed as he resisted abduction by the gunmen.

The late Idris Abu Sufyan served as the principal of Government Secondary School (GSS) Kuriga until his death.

Kaduna State Police Command could not confirm the incident as at press time. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan told Sunday Nation that, he would make enquiry and get by to our Correspondent.

However, Senator Shehu Sani who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly confirmed the incident in his verified X handle.

According to the Senator, “Mallam Idris Abu Sufyan,Principal GSS Kuriga,Chikun Lg Kaduna State was killed by Bandits when he tried to resist abduction. They succeeded in kidnapping two women in the process. May his soul rest in peace. Ameen.”

A resident of the village, Aliyu Kuriga said, the late Principal was attacked in his house Friday night and was shot befire his wife and son were taken away by the bandits.

Kuriga prayed for the repose of Abu Sufyan’s soul, describing him as someone who loved his people, as he decided to stay back in the village to teach despite brighter opportunities he had in the city.
