From Prophecy to Victory: How Primate Ayodele’s Prediction Became Reality to Governor Adeleke

EXPOSED: God showed me six things to destroy Tinubu’s govt, –Primate Ayodele reveals

In the charged political atmosphere that surrounded the 2026 Osun State governorship election, many voices offered predictions, strategies and political calculations. But one voice stood out for its consistency long before voters headed to the polls — that of Primate Elijah Ayodele, the spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church.

For months, Primate Ayodele repeatedly declared that Governor Ademola Adeleke would secure a second term in office. His prediction was not made only on the eve of the election; it was expressed publicly well ahead of the August 15, 2026 poll. The Osun State Government itself reported in February 2025 that Ayodele had declared that Adeleke was ordained to win a second term.

As the election drew closer, the cleric maintained his position despite the intense political contest involving Adeleke and his major challengers. In the final days before the election, Ayodele again said Adeleke was favoured to win, while warning the governor not to become complacent.

That consistency has now placed Primate Ayodele at the centre of conversations surrounding Adeleke’s victory.

A Prophecy That Refused to Change

Political predictions are often shaped by opinion polls, campaign strength, party structures and observable political trends. Prophetic declarations operate in a different sphere — one rooted in faith and spiritual conviction.

Ayodele’s prediction about Osun was remarkable principally because he maintained the same message over an extended period.

At a time when different political camps were presenting competing narratives about who would control Osun, Ayodele continued to insist that Adeleke would return to the Government House.

The Nigerian Tribune has now reported on how the cleric predicted Adeleke’s victory “back-to-back” since 2025, highlighting the consistency of his earlier declarations.

More Than a Prediction

For Ayodele, the Osun declaration was presented as more than political analysis. His statements were framed as messages he believed came through divine revelation.

He repeatedly urged Adeleke to remain vigilant, suggesting that securing victory at the ballot box would not necessarily be the end of the political battle.

In one of his warnings before the election, Ayodele said Adeleke should maintain his political structures and remain alert to possible attempts to challenge the outcome after voting.

That warning added another dimension to his prophecy: the message was not simply Adeleke will win, but also Adeleke must protect the victory.

The Spiritual Dimension of Osun Politics

Osun politics has historically been fiercely contested, with elections frequently attracting enormous public attention. The 2026 contest was no different.

Against this backdrop, Ayodele’s repeated pronouncements became part of the wider political conversation. Supporters of Adeleke could point to the prophecy as a source of confidence, while political opponents were free to question or reject it.

Indeed, the Osun APC publicly disagreed with Ayodele’s earlier prediction, dismissing it as biased and politically motivated.

But prophecy, like politics, ultimately faces the test of events.

With Adeleke now securing re-election, Ayodele’s earlier prediction has assumed a new significance among those who followed his pronouncements.

The Voice Behind the Victory Narrative

It would, however, be inaccurate to suggest that a prophecy itself caused Adeleke’s electoral victory. Elections are determined by voters, campaigns, organisation, political structures and the credibility of the electoral process.

Yet, within the spiritual narrative surrounding the election, Primate Ayodele occupies a distinctive position.

He was one of the prominent voices who publicly backed the prediction of an Adeleke victory long before the result became known.

His role, therefore, is less about claiming responsibility for the governor’s victory and more about the remarkable timing and consistency of his prophetic declarations.

From Prediction to Fulfilment

For his followers and those who believe in his prophetic ministry, the Osun result represents a moment of fulfilment.

For political observers, it is another reminder of the influence religious voices continue to wield in Nigeria’s political environment.

And for Governor Adeleke, the outcome marks another chapter in his political journey — one that, according to Ayodele, had already been spiritually foretold.

As celebrations continue around Adeleke’s re-election, the story of Osun 2026 will therefore not be told only through votes, party structures and campaign strategies.

For many of Ayodele’s followers, it will also be remembered as the election in which a prophecy made long before the ballot was cast eventually met the verdict of the people.

Primate Elijah Ayodele’s voice may not have cast a single ballot, but his prediction became one of the most closely watched spiritual narratives surrounding Governor Ademola Adeleke’s journey back to office.
