APC Support Groups Council Installs Dare Odufowokan as Patron

The Ogun State chapter of the APC Support Groups Council has formally installed the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Public Communications, Otunba ‘Dare Odufowokan, as Patron of the Council in recognition of his contributions to the growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and grassroots mobilization efforts across Ogun State.

The installation ceremony, held at the Segun Osoba Press Centre, Okemosan, Abeokuta on Thursday, brought together leaders of various APC support groups, party stakeholders, and members of the ruling party from various parts of the state, to honour Odufowokan’s commitment to party unity, youth engagement, and electoral success.

Speaking at the event, the State Coordinator of the APC Support Groups Council,, Hon. Lekan Shobo Shobowale, described Odufowokan as “a committed party man whose dedication, resources, and strategic support have strengthened the APC at the grassroots level.” He added that “as mouthpiece of the Dapo Abiodun administration, Odufowokan has ensured that activities of government and party are well communicated not just in the metropolis but also at the grassroots level. He is an ardent defender of democratic values.”

According to the Council, the role of Patron is to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the various support groups working to deepen the party’s reach ahead of upcoming elections. “This is why we have appointed Otunba ‘Dare Odufowokan, a man whose grassroots credentials are far-reaching and effective,” the Council affirmed.

Accepting his new role, Odufowokan expressed gratitude to the Council for the honour. He pledged to work with the leadership to ensure greater cohesion among support groups and to mobilize more Nigerians behind the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC while also working harder towards the victory of all the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections.

“I am humbled by this appointment. Our task now is to unite all support groups, strengthen our structures, and deliver victory for the APC at all levels,” he said.

The event featured goodwill messages from APC leaders present, presentations, and the official decoration of the new Patron.

Dignitaries present included the immediate past Women Leader in Ijebu Ode LGA, Hon. Mrs. Arije Fisayo Grace, the State Youth Leader of the Council, Hon. Salewa Balogun Onilogbo, the state Public Relations Officer of the Council, Hon. Olumide Adetola, Comrade Olawale Bakare, Hon Folawole Femi, members of the APC executive, and representatives of affiliate support organizations.

The APC Support Groups Council said the installation is part of ongoing efforts to harmonize support groups under one umbrella to avoid duplication and enhance the party’s campaign and voter education activities.
