Government Announces Nationwide Public Holiday Break

A deep wave of sorrow has enveloped Ogudu land, following the passing on of its revered monarch, Oba Nojeemdeen Fashola, the Ologudu of Ogudu land.

The highly respected first-class traditional ruler reportedly passed away peacefully in the early hours of yesterday at his home in Ogudu, according to palace sources.

Although the exact cause of his death has not been officially disclosed, the palace confirmed that the ‘’king departed this world in peace.’’

His demise has thrown the ancient community in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State into mourning, as residents, chiefs and well-wishers gather to pay tributes to a monarch widely admired for his wisdom, humility and fatherly leadership.

In honour of the late traditional rulers, several community activities and market operations have been scaled down in line with Yoruba traditional rites.

Oba Fashola ascended the throne four years ago and throughout his reign remained a symbol of culture, unity, peace and progress in Ogudu land. He was deeply loved by his people for his calm disposition, accessibility and genuine concern for the growth and well-being of the community.
