Finally, Atiku Gives Up Presidential Ambition

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said no presidential aspirant will step down in the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential race.

Atiku said this in a statement Tuesday through his media adviser, Paul Ibe, adding that all aspirants will present themselves freely.

He also urged Nigerians to resist efforts by the All Progressives Congress, APC, to intimidate and weaken the opposition.

His remarks came in the wake of the speculation that he is facing pressure to step aside for a Southern candidate to emerge as the ADC’s flagbearer in the upcoming election against President Bola Tinubu.

According to him, if anyone should step down, it is President Bola Tinubu, whose leadership he described as a growing national liability.
