In a significant political shift in Yobe State, both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have faced a wave of defections that is stirring the local political landscape.

A substantial number of disillusioned party members from Damagum, the hometown of PDP National Chairman Umar Illiya Damagum, have publicly declared their allegiance to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

This mass exodus includes individuals from all 17 local government areas of the state, showcasing a wide-ranging dissent. The defectors were formally welcomed into the ADC during a vibrant ceremony held in Damagum, where they were issued new membership cards, symbolizing their commitment to their new political home.

At the forefront of the event was Adamu Waziri, the leader of the ADC coalition in Yobe, who addressed the gathered crowd with a message that blended hope and concern.

He warmly welcomed the new members, acknowledging their courage in making such a significant change.

He painted a stark picture of the economic struggles that have intensified hardship across the country, resonating with the sentiments of many present in the audience.
