We don’t need protest — Gov Abiodun

Gov. Dapo Abiodun appoints Chief of Staff

The governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Sunday declared that Nigeria does not need protest as the Federal government is working hard to fix the myriads of socio-economic challenges plaguing the country and its people.

He said all that Nigeria needs now is for citizens to cooperate and support the current government.

Governor Abiodun shared this thought and perspectives as a guest of honour at the 22nd convocation ceremony of Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State on Sunday.

He appealed to the entire Nigerians, especially the youths to engage the government in constructive criticism and dialogues rather than protest.

According to him, protest won’t do Nigeria any good rather put it in a bad light.

“So, we don’t need protest and we shouldn’t participate in any of it.

“Let us all support President Bola Tinubu’s various economic policies. They are designed towards Nigeria’s greatness.

“All that is required is our patience for more time.”

He said Nigerians should understand that the country is not alone in economic crisis, especially inflation, but a global problem that is also affecting more developed countries of the world and we should therefore be patient with the government in its bid to change the narrative.

The governor, however, congratulated all the graduating students and the two doctoral degree honoris, Chief Wole Olanipekun, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Mrs Bukola Onikepo Smith.

He asked the new graduates to remain focused and be more committed to activities that would make them succeed in all ramifications.

A total of 2, 842 undergraduate and postgraduate students graduated in various disciplines out of which 148 made First Class honours.

Other dignitaries in attendance include the governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebamiji; Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adu Adejimi; and President\Vice-Chancellor, Babcock University, Prof. Ademola Tayo and so forth.
