I’m a hustler, not a billionaire, says Funke Akindele

Filmmaker Funke Akindele has addressed the misconception surrounding her worth following the remarkable success of her movie “A Tribe Called Judah”.

The film’s box office gross of over a N1bn led to speculation that she had become a billionaire.

However, Funke clarified that this was not the case, stating that while the movie did indeed gross a billion naira, she did not personally take home the entire amount.

Funke’s response was prompted by a fan’s comment expressing desire to meet her in person, possibly with the assumption that she was now a billionaire.

She set the record straight, emphasising her continued hard work and dedication to her craft, earning her the title of a “confirmed hustler”.

“Thanks dear. I’m not a billionaire! My movie A Tribe Called Judah grossed over a billion naira. But I didn’t take the billion home o!!! I be confirmed hustler,” she said.
