Tinubu appoints Engineer Umar Farouk as NAMA Managing Director

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Engineer Umar Ahmed Farouk as the substantive Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
Farouk a senior Director in the Airspace Management Agency is bringing on board his wealth of experience in the affairs of the air navigation service provider.
An astute professional, he has been contributing his immense contribution to enhancing the capacity for NAMA.
A foremost recipient of the National Productivity Merit Award, Farouk will be hitting the ground running with his vast knowledge and experience in the global air navigation space, where he is a leading light.
With requisite industry training and robust capacity, Farouk is expected to achieve a paradigm shift in the Airspace Management Agency.
His appointment according to the Federal government is in line with Tinubu’s determination to bring world-class standards to Nigerian Civil Aviation to push for consumer protection and the promotion of the wellbeing of Nigerian passengers and other sectoral stakeholders.
Farouk is taking over from Mr. Tayib Adetunji Odunowo.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu anticipates that the new leadership in NAMA under the leadership of Farouk will uphold the safety, convenience, and comfort of the Nigerian people as primary and sacrosanct in all of their administrative duties.
Meanwhile, Farouk’s appointment has been received with excitement across the industry, with many players describing him as a round peg in a round hole.
