Aero Contractors cooperating with agencies on aircraft runway incursion

Christmas: Nigeria’s oldest aviation firm Aero Contractors slashes airfare to N80,000

Aero Contractors Airlines Limited said on Sunday that its management is cooperating with the relevant agencies following a runway incursion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja , involving its Boeing 737 aircraft.

In a statement signed by its management, the airline said all 133 passengers on board the aircraft were safely evacuated through what it described as ” controlled disembarkation”.

The aircraft marked with registration number : 5N- BYQ , Flight NG 119 was from Lagos to Abuja.

The Managing Director of Aero Contractors, Capt. Ado Sanusi said: ā€œWe apologise for the inconveniences caused to our customers and other airport users. Our team with the assistance of the airport management have already towed the aircraft from the taxiway.

ā€œWe are equally cooperating with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the National Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) as they carry out their investigations.
