Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke is mourning the loss of his close associate, Olalekan Oyeyemi, widely known as Ajagungbade Emir, who was tragically shot and killed by suspected hoodlums.

The incident occurred on Sunday in Ile-Ife, a historical city in Osun State, and is believed to be linked to a violent dispute over the control of a local garage.

The news of Ajagungbade Emir’s death has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting ongoing concerns about safety and security in the area.

In response to this tragic event, Governor Adeleke has issued a statement calling for swift action. He directed the Osun State Police Commissioner to carry out a comprehensive investigation and ensure that all individuals involved in this heinous act are apprehended and brought to justice.

The governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order and addressing the issues of violence that have gripped some parts of the state. The community continues to grapple with the aftermath of this incident, hoping for justice and a return to peace in Ile-Ife.

Adeleke also directed warring groups to vacate the motor parks immediately and establish a Park Management System with immediate effect.

While calling for calm among the citizenry, Governor Adeleke directed security agencies to restore normalcy across the motor parks and maintain law and order across the state.

Adeleke further promised to issue an Executive Order establishing a park management system to restore discipline and orderliness across motor parks in the state.

The statement added, “Law and order must be maintained. There will be no sacred cows as all culprits will be brought to book.

“We call on members of the public to remain calm. We will ensure restoration of peace in all the affected parks and areas. The security agencies are under instruction to ensure the sustainability of peace at all costs.

“We are reintroducing the Park Management System. I will soon issue an executive order to give effect to the new management system to manage parks and garages across the state.”
