The General Overseer and founder of Rock Word Church and Dominion International, Pastor Adamson Aromaegbe, has died.

Aromaegbe, a Port Harcourt-based gospel preacher, reportedly died on Friday, although the circumstances surrounding his death remained unclear as of the time of filing this report.

The church confirmed the death in a statement issued on Sunday by Rev Nnamdy Echezona and published on the ministry’s Facebook page.

The church leadership described Aromaegbe as a devoted servant of God whose ministry had made an impact on numerous people.

The statement urged members, friends and well-wishers to remember the deceased’s family, the church and the entire Dominion International family in their prayers during the period of mourning.

The church also said details concerning the funeral and “Celebration of Life” ceremony would be announced at a later date.

Church mourns founder

Describing the late preacher’s contribution to Christianity, the church said Aromaegbe was a faithful servant of God, visionary leader, teacher, mentor and Kingdom builder.

According to the statement, his life and ministry touched countless lives during his years of service.

“Though we deeply miss his physical presence, we rejoice in the hope we have in Christ and celebrate a life well lived, a race well run and a legacy that will continue for generations,” the church said.

The death of Aromaegbe is expected to trigger tributes from members of his congregation, fellow clerics, friends and other people who encountered his ministry.

The church leadership has yet to disclose the circumstances surrounding his death.

It said further information about the “Celebration of Life” and other arrangements would be communicated in due course.
