2027: Atiku Loses ADC Presidential Ticket, New Winner Emerges

2027 : Crisis Rocks ADC As Dumebi Kachikwu Emerges ADC Presidential Candidate, Defeats Atiku

A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the dissolution of the national working committee (NWC) led by David Mark.

In a significant development, the faction has officially selected Dumebi Kachikwu as its presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 election.

This decision was made during the faction’s national convention and presidential primary held in Abuja, where delegates endorsed Kachikwu through a voice vote, as reported by Politics Nigeria.

The group immediately constituted a new set of national officers to replace the dissolved NWC.

The new executives include Kingsley Oggah as chairman of the board of trustees, Abdulkadir Bashir as national chairman, Johnny Derek as national secretary, Kennedy O. Odion as national treasurer, Amirigoye as national financial secretary, and Chris Ugwu as national legal adviser, among others.

Speaking after receiving the party flag, Kachikwu described Nigeria as being at a critical crossroads, plagued by insecurity, unemployment, economic hardship, and deepening divisions.

“Nigeria belongs to all of us and must not be controlled by a few privileged interests,” he said.

He added that the mass exodus of the middle class out of the country signals widespread frustration with current conditions.

Kachikwu positioned the ADC as a credible alternative capable of restoring hope to citizens.

Earlier at the convention, Oggah described the gathering as a “defining moment”, noting the faction’s resilience amid internal challenges.
