2027: Blessing Fubara Snr Defects to NDC, Dumps APC

A community development expert and political stakeholder, Blessing Fubara Snr., has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), in a move that signals shifting political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fubara, a relative of the Rivers state governor, announced his defection in Abuja, where he was formally received by the National Leader of the NDC, Seriake Dickson, alongside other party stakeholders.
Speaking at the meeting, he described the NDC as “a moving train,” noting that his decision to join the party was driven by the need to safeguard the interests of Rivers State amid ongoing political tensions.
“The soul of Rivers State is at stake,” Fubara said, adding that residents were preparing to “take back their state” in the 2027 elections. He also expressed optimism about the state’s future, stating that “Rivers will be OK” after the polls.
Fubara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Development and Adult Education and currently serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of D’Consiglories LLC.
