Court Takes Fresh Action on El-Rufai’s Case (FULL DETAILS)

A Kaduna State High Court has rescheduled the hearing for former governor Nasir El-Rufai’s bail request to the first week of June 2026.
This decision was made by Justice Darius Khobo during proceedings on Tuesday in Kaduna, according to reports from Naija News.
El-Rufai faces multiple charges related to alleged financial misconduct and abuse of office, filed against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.
He arrived at the court around 9 a.m. in a convoy, accompanied by officials from the anti-corruption agency and operatives from the Department of State Services. Security was heightened around the court, with officers managing access to the area.
Outside the courtroom, a group of supporters gathered, while security personnel were present to ensure there were no disturbances.
After the hearing, El-Rufai’s attorney, Ukpon Akpan, expressed concerns regarding the ongoing delays in processing the bail application, suggesting that political motivations could be at play.
The court is set to continue consideration of the case when it resumes in June.
Meanwhile, El-Rufai has alleged a fresh plot to implicate him in criminal activities, warning of what he described as coordinated efforts to tarnish his image and keep him in prolonged detention.
