2027: Tinubu’s Ally Reveals Who Will Be Lagos’ Next Governor

James Faleke, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a member of the House of Representatives, has expressed his support for Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat in the upcoming 2027 governorship race.

Representing the Ikeja Federal Constituency, Faleke stated that he believes Hamzat is the most qualified candidate to take over the current administration.

His endorsement was communicated through a message on his X account on Friday, as reported by Politics Nigeria.

His statement comes as political activities begin to gather momentum within the ruling party, especially with party primaries expected in the coming weeks.

Faleke called on party loyalists and stakeholders across Ikeja Federal Constituency and Lagos State to rally behind Hamzat. He stressed the need for unity within the party as preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle.

He wrote, “Good evening all. As we prepare for Party primaries next month, I urge all our supporters in ikeja Federal Constituency and Lagos State to support Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State from 2027-2035 IJN”.

Hamzat, who currently serves as the deputy governor of Lagos State, is widely seen as a key figure in the state’s political structure.

Over the years, he has played a major role in governance, working closely with successive administrations in Lagos.
