A cleric of the Celestial Church of Christ, Liberation Parish, Ijaiye, Prophet James Godwin Aso, has called on Nigerians to embrace prayers and national unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on the state of the nation, Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Aso, popularly known as ‘Every Living Soul’,  said the burden of leadership remains heavy and urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention for the country’s leaders, regardless of prevailing economic or political challenges.

“The load is heavy. God should assist him. He is our leader, and Nigerians should pray for him regardless of the state of the country,” Prophet Aso said.

He further called for prayers to avert violence and instability as the next election cycle approaches, stressing that Nigeria must not descend into conflict.

“God should visit this country so that there will never be war. We are a great nation,” he added.

The cleric also warned against foreign interference in Nigeria’s internal affairs, cautioning citizens not to welcome external forces under the guise of rescue or intervention.

“We should not allow external forces to invade us in the name of rescuing us,” he said.

Prophet Aso’s comments come amid rising political tension, economic hardship, and growing public debate as political actors and citizens begin to look toward the 2027 polls.

His message adds a religious voice to the ongoing national conversation on leadership, stability, and the future of Nigeria.
