BREAKING: Tension as Housewife, 6 Children Killed By Unknown Gunmen

On January 17, 2025, at approximately 12:10 PM, the Kano State Police Command responded to an emergency call regarding a violent incident in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kano.

Armed attackers forcibly entered the residence of Haruna Bashir, resulting in the tragic deaths of seven individuals.

The victims have been identified as Fatima Abubakar, aged 35, along with her six children.

Authorities report that the assailants were armed with dangerous weapons, which they used to inflict fatal injuries on the victims.

The police are currently investigating the incident and seeking information about the unknown attackers.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, ordered an immediate response, deploying officers led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, DCP Lawal Isah Mani, to the scene.

The victims were taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where doctors confirmed them dead.

“Bodies were evacuated and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where they were pronounced dead. A team led by ACP Wada Jarma, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was instructed to conduct a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice,” the statement added.

The police also said that the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department, ACP Wada Jarma, had been directed to carry out a full investigation to arrest those responsible.

The police command expressed condolences to the victims’ family, residents of Dorayi Chiranchi, and the people of Kano State.
