2027: Fear Grips APC as Top Senators, Politicians Join ADC with Peter Obi

Several prominent political figures from the South-East region of Nigeria have officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.
This announcement was made public during a gathering in Enugu, the capital of Enugu State, on Wednesday.
The coalition includes politicians from the South-East as well as other regions, indicating a strategic alliance that crosses regional lines. Notable individuals who have joined the ADC include Emeka Ihedioha, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives; David Mark, the Interim National Chairman of the ADC; and Ben Obi, a former vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Other significant figures at the event were Victor Umeh, the Senator representing Anambra Central; Aminu Tambuwal, Senator for Sokoto Central and former Speaker of the House of Representatives; and Achike Udenwa, a former Governor of Imo State, among other political stakeholders.
During the announcement, the leaders discussed their decision, which followed months of extensive consultations with supporters, party leaders, and political associates nationwide. They highlighted their intention to form a robust and united opposition to challenge the current governance by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The politicians expressed their dedication to collaborating under the ADC to “rescue Nigeria from poor governance.” They emphasized that the ADC aligns with their vision for national unity, effective governance, and inclusive development. Additionally, they extended an invitation to other opposition figures sharing similar objectives to join their alliance.
The meeting concluded with a call to Nigerians to support this emerging coalition, which they advocate as a credible alternative for future political contests.
