The African Action Congress governorship candidate in the November 8 Anambra State governorship election, Chioma Ifemeludike, has declared herself a winner despite securing 292 votes, according to results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

While the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate, Chukwuma Soludo, was declared the winner with 422,664 votes, and the All Progressives Congress candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, came second with 99,445 votes, Ifemeludike insisted that her 292 votes represented a symbolic victory in a political landscape often dominated by larger parties.

In a post on X on Sunday, the AAC candidate said, “Integrity stands firm and higher than political deception. I’m a winner!”

Ifemeludike, who attracted widespread attention online during her campaign for her unconventional photos and videos, expressed satisfaction with her performance without no malpractice.

Recall that the governorship candidate gained attention after her unconventional campaign photo, sparking controversy on her choice of outfit, and an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, where she reaffirmed her commitment to improving security in Anambra, pledging that she would disband the controversial Agunechemba security outfit if elected.

“Restructuring security is a priority.
