Senate Reschedules Resumption

Senator Akpabio is not more of a senator than I am, and he treated me like I was his servant. We cannot cower in the face of injustice,” Akpoti-Uduaghan said.

As reported by Arise TV via X, she maintained that despite the suspension, she continued to serve her constituents.

“Even though I was suspended illegally, I effectively carried out my duties as a senator to Kogi Central because I didn’t want them to suffer neglect,” she added.

Senate office unsealed

The Sergeant-at-Arms of the National Assembly, supported by security agencies, unsealed Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s office, Room 205, in the Senate wing.

Her suspension followed a heated confrontation with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over the relocation of her seat.

She was sanctioned for six months and asked to tender a formal apology before reinstatement.

Senate leadership meeting reached decision

Legit.ng reports that the decision to allow her return was reached during a Senate leadership meeting on 22 September 2025.

According to sources, the Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Abba Moro (PDP, Benue South), was designated to move the motion for Akpoti-Uduaghan’s reinstatement.

The move ensures she will be physically present in the chamber when the Senate resumes on 7 October 2025.
