Palliative: Gov Bago distributes N20m to each ward in Niger State

…empowers 30,000 farmers with farming tools, fertilizers
Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago will be giving out N20 million to each ward in the state as part of efforts to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal, for immediate implementation is the provision of food security.
This was disclosed yesterday at the closing of a two day retreat organised for Commissioners, members of the State House of Assembly, Special Advisers, Local Government Council Chairmen and Heads of MDAs held in Suleja.
Consequently, each ward in Chanchaga, Bida, Suleja and Kontagora local government areas are to receive N20m, while the remaining words in 21 local government areas are to get N10m each to be used in purchasing food items at Ward level for onward distribution to the people at the grassroot.
The governor also stressed that, in the coming days, 30,000 farmers in the State will be empowered with farming tools, fertilizers, and other Agro- allied chemicals will be distributed to the 30,000 beneficiaries as part of our administration’s Agricultural transformation.
“No lofty idea will be meaningful without available funds hence, every stakeholder in governance must be aggressive and intentional about revenue generation so as to meet the demands of the citizens,” he said.
