17-year-old Nigerian girl beats 69 countries to emerge first in English language

A 17-year-old girl from Northern Nigeria, Nafisat Aminu, has made headlines by emerging as the top performer in English Language at a prestigious global final held in London, United Kingdom.
The results of the TeenEagle Global Finals were announced on Monday, showcasing her remarkable achievement. Nafisat competed against participants from 69 countries and outshone over 20,000 competitors to claim this distinguished recognition.
Her feat attracted reaction from Nigerians on X Monday.
According to Abbey Abby on X, he lauded the development, noting that this is another win for the country.
“Nigeria wins again,” @abbeykool wrote on X.
Another user on X said the best brains remain in Nigeria.
“We have the best brains here; we dominate anytime we compete,” she wrote.
The development comes as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rewarded D’Tigeress and Super Falcons with $100,000 cash prizes, respectively, for winning African women’s basketball and football this year.
