'Atiku has corruption history in Nigeria' - Akpabio hits back at ex-VP

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has said that the former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar should not regard himself as someone who could join discussions on the issues of corruption in Nigeria.

Akpabio’s response follows allegations made by the former vice president and two-time presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on his character and person.

Recall that Atiku during an interview with Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie of Untold Stories alleged that Akpabio was known to be corrupt during his time as the governor of Akwa Ibom State.

The former vice president also accused Akpabio of having a habit of abusing women in his space.

However reacting to Atiku’s allegations, Eseme Eyiboh, the media aide to Akpabio said the Senate President would not engage with the Vice President on the matter.

“Is Atiku the proper person to discuss corruption in Nigeria, from your knowledge of history? So what is his history when it comes to corruption?

“Is he the proper person to take us on that? Anyway, my principal wouldn’t want to engage him on that issue, Eyiboh said.
