Davido shocks fans with favourites candidate in Edo election, details emerge

David Adeleke, a well-known Nigerian music artist who is popularly known as Davido, has expressed a strong interest in the current #EdoDecides2024 election. He mentioned that his maternal connections to the state are a significant factor driving his interest in the ongoing election.
In a tweet posted on his official X account this Saturday, the renowned singer elaborated that his mother originates from Edo, a detail that amplifies his vested interest in the electoral procedures.
He emphasized the importance of all Nigerians being equally engaged and involved in the election, recognizing its significant impact on the nation.
Davido criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he believed was poor handling of the election.
He recounted his involvement in the 2022 Osun State gubernatorial election, emphasizing that it required sustained efforts, including public activism before the situation ameliorated.

This statement comes a few hours after the singer of ‘Unavailable’ had previously disagreed with the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Frank Mba, who suggested that voters should go home right after casting their votes in the current election.
