Sububu,a Nigerien met his Waterloo on Thursday just 24 hours after posting a video in which he asked his fellow wanted terrorists Bello Turji, Dankarami, Dogo Gide and others to stop killing poor people and focus their fight against the military.
The Deputy Director Information and Public Relations Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, said Sububu was killed at Mayanchi village in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State during on- going effort by NAF and ground forces to “exploit intelligence and secure the area” following contact with the adversaries.
The other bandit, Sani Wala Burki, was killed on Friday in a coordinated operation in Katsina State.
His ‘territory’ covered Safana and Batsari Local Government Areas of Katsina State where he had instilled fear in the residents.
However, his end came when security personnel in a collaborative effort with local vigilante men and the state Community Watch Corps (CWC) confronted him and his gang in a gun duel in Safana.
The bandits had launched an assault on innocent residents but the security personnel and the others organized a collective defense and succeeded in overpowering the invaders.
