The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) plans to roll out its mobile app this September, designed for verifying licences and plate numbers.
Elizabeth Jayeola, the FRSC spokesperson in Lagos, announced this during Thursday’s edition of The Morning Brief on Channels Television.
Jayeola, who serves as the Sector Public Education Officer for the FRSC Lagos State Command, explained that the app will offer features beneficial to both citizens and road safety officials.
“There is the mobile app that is going to be launched in September 2024. It has functions for the citizens and for the FRSC.
“We are going to bring this to the mobile app, you can now check for licenses, number plates and all that,” said Jayeola.
She also mentioned that the radar gun technology has been deployed and is currently used on the Third Mainland Bridge to catch vehicles over speeding.
The FRSC spokesperson also identified over speeding, aggressive driving among others as the major causes of accidents in Lagos.
“In Lagos speeding, distracted driving and aggressive driving are the major causes of road accidents,” she stated.
Jayeola urged all citizens to join in and partner with the road safety officials to ensure Nigerian roads are safer.
