Ondo 2024: Another PDP governorship aspirant dumps party

A former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sola Ebiseni, has dumped the party alongside his supporters.
Ebiseni came third in the PDP primary which was won by a former deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi.
He has, however, emerged as the candidate of the Labour Party for the November 16th governorship election.
Ebiseni emerged as the LP candidate by substitution after the withdrawal of Ayodele Olorunfemi as the party’s candidate.
He said the presence of the top echelon of the party’s leadership showed that he was the party’s governorship candidate.
Unveiling his agenda in Akure at a press briefing, Ebiseni said he builds on ideological policy thrusts of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo in tandem with the present dictates of the world,
Ebiseni said he would operate an administration of veritable teamwork and people’s participation based on the age-long and proven beneficial programmes.
He promised to tackle insecurity through partnership with the Federal Government and its relevant agencies to build on the efforts of successive administrations.
The Afenifere scribe said he would ensure qualitative and free education which is technologically driven as well as push for enhanced subsidised post-secondary education.
He said: “Emergence of party’s candidate is guided by the Electoral Act. My candidacy has been secured since July. The party’s leadership acted within the laws for me to be a candidate.
“What is important is that I am the candidate of the party. I will win this election. I did not stray into the party. I was a Commissioner under LP in this state. All the projects you can point to were executed during the time of LP.
“We will revive our moribund infrastructures and bring to bear new ones. We will embark on road construction as has never been seen before in the State, including urban renewal, ecological control, and environmental sanitation.
“We will re-enact the golden era of agriculture in the state through a revolution that we will inject mechanization, and assist in the area bringing of equipment and inputs to farmers. We will also ensure that our farmers are safe in their farms.”
He picked Dayo Awude, a former Chief of Protocol to the Ondo State Government in 2009, as his running mate.
