Niger Governor Bago Orders Arrest of APC Chieftain for Criticising His Government

Niger State has disbursed N25 billion to clear 21-year pensions and gratuities owed to retirees, it was learnt.

Governor Umaru Bago said this underscores the administration’s dedication to welfare of tretired civil servants.

He said in addition, the state paid N20,000 wage award to civil servants for the second time in two months.

The government is also addressing outstanding leave grants pending since 2018, he said.

This move is seen as a step towards alleviating the financial burden on retirees, some of who have not received their pensions for over nine years.
