Kebbi Governor Sues For Peace Amidst Attempt To Import Thugs

Amid heavy and violent crackdown on defenceless protesters in Nigeria and following violent protest at Yauri local government area of Kebbi state which claimed at least one life, the governor of Kebbi state, Dr Nasir Idris , has deployed army at strategic round about in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi.

Idris, in mid night Thursday, in a statewide broadcast alleged that some people in the state are planning to import thugs to cause mayhem and attack particularly the state water board ” available information at our disposal indicated that some people in the state have a clandestine plan to import miscreants in the state under the guise of protest to wreck havoc on our infrastructure”.

He listed the target of the secret master minds to include Yauri, Jega and Argungu to cause mayhem, he warned trouble makers and their sponsors to stay off Kebbi as the state is known for peace not for protest ” we will not hesitate to deal with those planning to truncate peace being enjoyed in the state even as he admitted that Nigerians are passing through hardship but he is working hard to reduce the suffering of the people in the state.

Meanwhile, the state capital on Friday remains calm with no reports of protest only heavy security presence at round about with army,NSCDC arm squad, police gun truck intimidating potential protesters in the state capital as people go about their normal businesses in Birnin Kebbi.
