Amidst nationwide protest, hoodlums reportedly looted rice mills situated along Zaria Road in Kaduna State during the nationwide protest.

Amid the ongoing #EndHunger protests, some demonstrators have blocked the Keffi-Abuja highway, preventing motorists from using the road.

The protests, set to run from August 1 to 10, 2024, aim to pressure the government to address issues of hunger, bad governance, and the high cost of living in Nigeria.

Nasarawa youths had initially abstained from the protest. However, later in the day, they joined the movement in significant numbers.

The protesters, numbering in their thousands, set fires on the roads and threatened to confront motorists who refused to turn back.

They carried placards with messages such as “End bad governance in Nigeria” and “Bring back fuel subsidy,” expressing their dissatisfaction with the current administration.

The protest action, particularly intense on the outskirts of Keffi, has resulted in a complete blockade of both sides of the highway, halting all vehicular movement.
