American singer, Sean Kingston, mother indicted over $1 million fraud

Popular American singer, Sean Kingston has been indicted for participating in a $1 million wire fraud scheme.

Sean Kingston was indicted on Friday, alongside his mother, Janice Turner, in a Miami federal court.

The scheme allegedly involved making payments through banks that never went through, resulting in accruing an excess of $1 million in property.

The duo were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit fraud and five counts of wire fraud. Following their alleged attempt to defraud sellers of high-end speciality vehicles, jewellery, and other goods purchased through fraudulent documents.

The United States Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Florida explained that the defendants ā€œunjustly enriched themselves by falsely representing that they had executed monetary payment transfers.ā€

DAILY POST recalls that the singer was arrested in May 2024, in California. His South Florida mansion was raided on the same day and his mother was arrested.
