NNPC, Others Release New Fuel Pump Price
According to Daily Post Nigeria, published on August 25, 2026, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at its retail outlets in Abuja and surrounding areas.
The company raised the price from N1,250 to N1,270 per litre, representing an increase of N20 per litre. The latest adjustment means motorists now pay more for petrol at NNPCL stations in the affected areas.
The increase comes despite Dangote Refinery’s expansion of its free petrol delivery programme to 10 destinations across Nigeria, including Abuja, where the product is priced at N1,185 per litre.
MRS filling stations have also adjusted their prices, with the company reportedly increasing its pump price by N20 to N1,230 per litre.
Despite the latest NNPCL increase, some filling stations in Abuja are selling petrol at even higher prices. Empire and AA Rano, for example, were reported to be dispensing petrol at between N1,275 and N1,299 per litre.
Meanwhile, stations such as Geregu, Ranoil, Emedab and Mobil were reported to be selling below the new NNPCL price.
As a result, petrol prices in Abuja and its environs now range from about N1,230 to N1,299 per litre, depending on the filling station.
The latest adjustment comes amid continued changes in petrol prices across the country as marketers respond to developments in the downstream petroleum market.
