Top APC Governor Stopped from Contesting Party Primary; Set to Dump Party

Speculation surrounding the political future of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has intensified following his absence from the APC primary screening exercise.
The governor’s failure to appear at the screening has sparked widespread rumours within political circles, with many suggesting that he may be preparing to make a shocking defection from the party.
Reports also indicate that loyalists of the embattled governor had earlier purchased the APC governorship nomination form on his behalf, a move widely interpreted as a sign of his possible interest in contesting under the party’s platform.
However, fresh indications suggest that Fubara may not be allowed to participate in the race as the political crisis between him and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, continues to deepen.
Although no official statement has been issued by the governor or his aides regarding the development, the unfolding situation has continued to generate mixed reactions among party members and political observers across the state.
