Senate Confirms Appointment of New Ministers

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as Minister of Power.
Naija News reports that the Senate also confirmed Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State Foreign Affairs.
The President, in a letter to the Senate on Tuesday read during plenary by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, sought the screening and confirmation of the duo as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Tinubu, in the letter, said the nomination was in line with the provisions of the Constitution.
Tegbe, who hails from Oyo State, is a fiscal and economic reform expert with over 35 years of experience in the public and private sectors.
He is a former Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, where he led initiatives in fiscal policy reform, institutional transformation and governance.
He has also advised government institutions and private sector organisations on strategic reforms, regulatory frameworks and investment structuring.
His nomination followed the resignation of Adebayo Adelabu as Minister of Power to pursue his governorship ambition in Oyo State.
