Nigerian Top Defender Dies in Auto Crash

Musa Ahmed Mohammed, Accountant-General of Nasarawa State, has resigned from his position to pursue the governorship seat in the 2027 general election.

Mohammed, who also holds the traditional title of Baraden Nasarawa, announced the decision during a rally held in his honour in Lafia.

The rally was organised by a group known as the Fatan Alheri Movement and attended by political stakeholders and community leaders from across the state.

Mohammed, a former speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has reportedly come under pressure from supporters to enter the governorship race. Supporters described him as a potential successor to Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa state.

The development comes hours after Sule met with governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

The meeting was attended by two former governors of Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Adamu and Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

Silas Ali Agara, a former deputy governor of the state, was also present at the meeting held at the Nasarawa governor’s lodge in Abuja.
