Mike Edwards, known for his appearance on Big Brother Naija and as a two-time Nigerian high jump champion, won his first professional boxing match against Jake Cornish.
The fight, which took place at the Dublin Arena on Saturday, went the full distance, and Edwards was declared the winner by unanimous decision from the judges.
Edwards, who transitioned from athletics to boxing earlier this year, competed in the Cruiserweight division under Misfits Boxing, an organization run by Olajide Williams, also known as KSI.
The debut was highlighted by Misfits Boxing on X.com, praising Edwards for his impressive performance.
This move marks a significant shift for Edwards, who announced his boxing career in April, moving from track and field to professional boxing.
