No man has ever broken my heart – Simi

Simisola Kosoko, widely known as Simi, a prominent Nigerian musician, has revealed that she has never been served breakfast (i.e., faced heartbreak) in a relationship.

Simi, who is married to afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold, stated in a recent interview with reality star Tacha on Cool FM in Lagos that her heartbreak songs aren’t influenced by her own experience.

In reference to her current heartache song, ‘Stranger,’ Simi said that perhaps the reason she can write relevant music is because she is a champion for the heartbroken. In the words of Simi:

“I don’t think I have ever been heartbroken. I don’t know, that song [‘Stranger’] came to me very easily. I guess, maybe I’m just a champion for people that have taken breakfasts [heartbroken] severally [laughs].

“I’m here for them. I mean, somebody has to be. And I remembered that I was thinking; I like love a lot, I think about love a lot. And I felt like one angle that I probably haven’t explored like that is… You know, like you are in a relationship, they have not given you breakfast yet but you just feel like you’ve changed so much and you are doing things, accepting things or adapting to things that normally you would never would. And then one day, you look at yourself in the mirror, and you are like, I don’t know that person.

“I feel like that was the perspective that would be nice to sing about or write about. That is going on in my feelings as well. And I feel like people would be able to relate with it, especially people that are currently going through a heartbreak.”

Phyna cries out over vandalized car at airport

Phyna, a reality TV star, voiced her anguish after realizing that her Mercedes Benz had been vandalized while parked at an airport.

On July 11, 2024, she posted a video on social media showing the damage: portion of the car’s silver panels had been forcefully removed.

In her post, she lamented: “I parked my car at the airport to go and work only to come back; they’ve removed this and the person tried removing the other side… na me and them for this airport today.”

Supportive fans swamped the comments, urging against future airport parking. One follower warned, “Dem no dey park anyhow for airport ooo. Those people are mean ooo. Just hold like 30 to 50k oooo.”

Another user advised, “Ahhhhh that’s why I don’t suggest taking or parking cars at the airport if one wants to travel. It’s best someone use Uber and park the car at home jeje, because I don’t trust these security guys at all. Heii, please baby, next time no park for airport o. Sorry for this, love.”

Reflecting on security measures, a fan asked, “You see the money for parking—no pay at all. Are they not supposed to have securities like security men, security cameras and also security lights at the airport packing lots?”

Offering practical counsel, another follower stated, “Was it parked at the owner’s risk or caretakers’ risk? Anyway…you go pay for parking and security yet money go waste. That’s Nigeria for you. Take it easy.”

My wife’s allowance is high – Seun Kuti Reveals

Nigerian artist Seun Kuti said during a recent interview that managing his wife’s allowance is the most difficult aspect of their marriage.

The couple, Seun and Yetunde, participated in a lighthearted question-and-answer session on Pulse Fun Facts, where they addressed various elements of their relationship.

When asked about the most difficult aspect of their marriage, Seun jokingly pointed out the financial strain of Yetunde’s monthly allowance, which he described as being in the seven figures. He said: “Her allowance is very high, seven figures every month.”

Despite his laughter, he confessed it’s a considerable investment and requires effort to maintain.

Yetunde subsequently questioned if he had any regrets regarding their marriage, and Seun boldly responded that he did not believe in regrets.

During the conversation, they also discussed what they are thankful for in their marriage, with Yetunde citing Seun and their daughter.

Seun joked that if he could modify Yetunde’s height, he would beg the ancestors to make her taller.

The couple’s banter and humour made for lively discussion, demonstrating their humorous dynamic in marriage.

#EndSARS: We won – DJ Switch reacts to ECOWAS court judgment

Obianuju Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch, has described the recent judgement of the Community Court of Justice of ECOWAS on the controversial #EndSARS protest as a win.

DJ Switch said she and other victims trusted that the facts and evidence presented to the court would be irrefutable, even in the face of discouragement.

DAILY POST recalls that the ECOWAS court recently ordered the Federal Government to pay DJ Switch, Perpetual Kamsi and Dabiraoluwa Adeyinka N2 million each for violation of their rights.

However, DJ Switch said she couldn’t express the emotional trauma they all went through and the life changes they had to make.

She said they had been able to work through it and that the ECOWAS court verdict certainly made a positive impact.

In a post on her X handle on Thursday, she wrote: “#ENDSARS: After a three year battle against the Nigerian government at the ECOWAS court, justice was served yesterday! We won!

“Just like many of you, I have little to no faith in any branch of service in Nigeria but, the ECOWAS court is the highest court on the continent and while many find humor and make jokes about its chairman being the illegal president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, we forged on, hoping still, and trusting that the facts and evidence we had and presented to the court would be irrefutable.

“For those who say, “after how many years?” I want you to understand that most court cases take a long time especially one where the respondent (in this case, the Nigerian government) tries to frustrate you! Either not showing up on set court dates or asking for adjournments for lack of preparation and all other silly excuses under the sun. Still, we had to exercise patience and be steadfast in our pursuit.

“I cannot express the emotional trauma we’ve all been through and life changes we’ve had to make but thankfully, with professional help, we’ve been able to work through it and this verdict certainly made a positive impact.

“I have never wavered once in my shared experience and I am grateful to my lawyers for presenting our experiences and evidence with tact and also grateful to the esteemed judges for doing their due diligence.

“Sitting in court yesterday and hearing the verdict from the judges indicting the Nigerian government of the crime they committed on the 20th of October, 2020 was one of the best days of my life since that horrific day and also legally vindicates us all. If no room is left for corruption to fester, the people are served.

“Barring any obstruction from the government to follow the instructions of the court, I can finally move on to other things, passion wise which I hope to share with you all.

“Naysayers can scream all they want! It is now legally documented in history who the criminals actually were.”

Yul Edochie release statement on report linking him to colleague shot dead by police in kidnapping gunfight

Yul Edochie Release Statement on Report Linking Him to Colleague Shot Dead By Police In Kidnapping Gunfight

Renowned Nigerian actor and director Yul Edochie has taken to social media to forcefully deny the widespread claims surrounding his viral pictures with late Nigerian filmmaker Ason Rich.

The Lagos state police command said last week that it had executed nine alleged kidnappers who “targeted high net-worth residents” in the state.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, revealed that the suspects were killed following a gunfight.

In an unexpected twist to the kidnapping case, Ason Rich, a well-known movie producer, surfaced as one of the main suspects.

The viral photo of him with Yul, which was widely included in news about the dead director and presented them as close friend, added a strong dose of scandal to the emerging story.

Fuming over blogs falsely portraying him as close friends with the late filmmaker, Yul Edochie took to his social media platform with a fiery video.

Yul lambasted the media manipulation that transformed his innocent pictures into misleading headline.

He vehemently debunked any friendship, clarified that their only interaction was a chance meeting on a movie set where they snapped a photo together.

With his reputation under siege, he delivered a blistering warning to those intent on tarnishing his hard-earned legacy. He vowed to pursue legal avenues to the fullest extent.

This is coming after veteran filmmaker Kanayo O Kanayo shared details about Ason Rich and what he does in the industry.

KOK, who called himself one of the protectors of Nollywood, noted that Ason Rich had barely produced up to five movies and had never acted in one before, and on such grounds, so he doesn’t qualify to be referred to as a film producer
