EFCC brings arrested Emefiele to court

The Federal Capital Territory High Court has admitted the embattled former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to bail.

The court ordered that he should be released to his counsel and must be produced in court when needed.

The presiding judge, Justice Adeniyi, also ordered him to deposit all his travel documents with the court’s registrar.

The PAPERS reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday brought the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria to the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The EFCC had failed to comply with the order of the FHC directing it to produce Emefiele in court on Monday or release him unconditionally.

Following the disobedience by the commission, the court restated its order and adjourned proceedings till Wednesday.

However, EFCC complied with the order as Emefiele was led into the court by heavily armed operatives.
