Man stabbed to death by 43-year-old friend in Ogun State

A 43-year-old man, Friday Nku, has been arrested for stabbing his 38-year-old friend, John Musa, to death with a knife in Omolara Street in the Sagamu Area of Ogun State.

it was gathered that the incident occurred on Wednesday during an argument.

An eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of victimization said, “We didn’t know what led to the argument. But all we know is that there was an argument between the deceased victim and his friend, who has now been arrested by the police. He stuck the knife in his chest.

“He was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead. One of the residents went to the police station to report the matter and he was arrested.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident, said the police had retrieved the weapon used for the murder.

Odutola said, “The suspect has been arrested and detained. The corpse has been taken to a morgue for an autopsy. The weapon used has been retrieved as an exhibit. The matter will be transferred to the SCID.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, Abiodun Alamutu, while extending his condolences to the family of the deceased, assured them that a thorough investigation would be done on the case.”
