25 Female Students Abducted, VP Killed, Principal Shot As Bandit Hit Government School

The recent attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, has been confirmed by the police.
Reports indicate that armed bandits invaded the school during the early hours of Monday, resulting in the tragic death of the Vice Principal and the abduction of several students.
CSP Nafiu Abubakar, the Police Public Relations Officer, was initially unavailable for comment when the first report was filed.
However, he later provided confirmation of the incident, noting that the attackers breached the school’s fence to execute the raid. Armed with advanced weaponry, they fired indiscriminately and successfully abducted 25 students during the incident.
He said, “The police tactical units deployed in the school engaged them into a gun duel but the suspected bandits had already abducted them in their hostel.”
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ahmed Idris, disclosed that the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida, had been dispatched to the school to assess the situation on behalf of Governor Nasir Idris, who is currently out of the state.
“The deputy governor is on his way to know the exact situation. The governor is not in the state for now, but his deputy will go on his behalf until he returns at any moment from now,” Idris said.
Maga, a community in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area, has experienced a troubling series of attacks recently.
During the most recent incident, which occurred at a local school around 5 am on Monday, it was reported that bandits invaded the premises without encountering any resistance.
Tragically, the school principal, identified as Makuku, was shot while attempting to protect the students during the assault.
“He was shot as he tried to protect his students from being taken by the bandits. It’s a great loss for the community and the school,” be said.
