I never lobbied Tinubu for any position, says Wike

Amid speculations that he was lobbying for an appointment from President Bola Tinubu, the immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has said God gave the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC the opportunity to repent from its previous sins.

Wike, who is a member of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, made the remark during a live media chat on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.

At the media chat, Wike expressed his views on the zoning policies of the current administration but insisted he never lobbied for any position.

The former Governor said the ruling party had during the previous administration, sinned against the populace, claiming they now have the opportunity to repent.

“APC should be jubilating that God has given them an opportunity at the cost of PDP. God gave APC the opportunity to repent from the sins they committed against Nigerians,” Wike said.
