Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has strongly criticised the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, following the deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba area of Jos.

The lawmaker reacted after the March 27 incident that left more than 30 people dead. Most of the victims were said to be Christian worshippers.

In a statement released on her official social media pages, the senator described the killings as yet another failure of the country’s security system.

She said the incident shows that many Nigerians are still exposed to danger despite repeated assurances from authorities.

“Dear General Christopher Musa, Angwan Rukuba is another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected. During your screening at the Senate chambers, your words were filled with promises, and I allowed myself a sigh of relief,” she wrote.

Akpoti-Uduaghan did not hold back in her demand for urgent action. She called on the Defence Minister to prove his capacity or vacate office.

“Well, prove now you are different and secure lives, or step aside. Enough of condolences. Enough of excuses. Nigerians want action, protection, and results!” she added.

The senator’s comments have added to growing public anger over the rising wave of attacks in parts of the country. Many communities, especially in Plateau State, have continued to face repeated violence, with residents often left to fend for themselves.

Reports from Angwan Rukuba indicate that the attackers struck with little resistance, leaving behind destruction and grief. Families have since been thrown into mourning, while survivors struggle to come to terms with the loss of loved ones.

Residents in the area have called for increased security presence and swift justice for those behind the killings. Community leaders say the situation has become unbearable and are urging the federal government to take concrete steps beyond routine statements.
