Why Atiku Will Never Become Nigeria’s President — Popular Monarch Speaks Out

The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has expressed a strong belief that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will not become Nigeria’s president.
During a press interaction at his palace, Iga Iduganran, the monarch stated that destiny has not been favorable to Atiku, despite his numerous attempts to secure the presidency since 1992.
Akiolu shared his insights in the context of events commemorating his 22nd year on the throne.
He described President Bola Tinubu’s rise to power as an act of divine will, insisting that his emergence was not by accident.
“The future belongs to God. But let me say it plainly: former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will never be President of Nigeria,” the monarch said.
He commended Tinubu for his leadership qualities, calling him “compassionate and visionary.”
Akiolu added that Tinubu had shown respect and humility after his victory, recalling that “he presented his certificate to me first after winning.”
The traditional ruler urged Nigerians to rally behind the president, saying unity and patience were needed to achieve the country’s goals.
“Lagosians and Nigerians should support him to fulfil God’s purpose for the country,” he added.
