SouthEast City Boy Movement Delivers on Promise: Over 3,000 Members Receive Empowerment Grants as Chief Obinna Iyiegbu Drives Grassroots Impact

In a decisive demonstration of integrity-driven leadership, the South-East Directorate of the City Boy Movement (CBM) has officially commenced the disbursement of financial grants to thousands of members across the region. The initiative fulfills a major pledge made by the Director of CBM South-East, Chief Dr. Obinna Iyiegbu (Cubana), the Chairman of the Cubana Group, following the movement’s strategic mobilization and engagement in Owerri.

At a time when public skepticism often surrounds political and social movements, the City Boy Movement has set a new benchmark for accountability. True to the promise made by Chief Iyiegbu, over 3,000 participants who traveled to Owerri for the regional convergence have now confirmed receipt of a ₦50,000 empowerment grant each.

Amb. Elijah Onyeagba, the Head of Secretariat for CityBoy Movement South-East, officially confirmed the development in a statement released to journalists, noting that the disbursement is aimed at easing economic pressures and fostering micro-economic growth among the movement’s grassroots base.

“Under the visionary leadership of Chief Dr. Obinna Iyiegbu, we are not just building a political movement; we are building an ecosystem of trust, reliability, and economic upliftment.” Amb. Onyeagba Stated

For close observers of the region’s socio-economic landscape, this massive financial intervention underscores Chief Iyiegbu’s evolving legacy as a thoughtful, people-centric leader. Renowned globally for his business acumen in hospitality and entertainment, his role in CBM South-East highlights a deliberate transition toward structured human capital development and regional economic integration.

By targeting over 3,000 individuals with direct liquidity, the initiative injects significant capital into local economies at a critical time. Beneficiaries have already taken to various digital and social media platforms to express their gratitude, sharing screenshots of the credits and praising Cityboy Movement for shifting the narrative of political mobilization from mere rhetoric to tangible empowerment.

The Secretariat has encouraged all recipients to continue sharing their testimonies across public platforms. This transparency is intended to showcase the movement’s fidelity to its word and to build a sustained, trust-based momentum as Cityboy Movement expands its footprint across the South-East.

With this seamless execution, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu and the CBM leadership have sent a clear message: the City Boy Movement is built on the bedrock of integrity, and its commitments to the people are non-negotiable.
